We were challenged for this project to create a boutique hotel that would sit in New York City on the Highline. This hotel needed to bring in those who are visiting the Highline, to intrigue them. The Hotel is located in such a unique location that it only made sense to create a space that is such that. With this in mind, my partner and I wanted to create a space that carried an eclectic style with color blocking that really took the visitor on a color journey. These colors are displayed in such a way that creates a stimulating experience with each guest.
The first floor features mostly unsaturated colors and is a fresh take on a modern space to relax and recover in. This floor includes a lounge area and smoothie bar, for those who may have been traveling and need a moment of pause.
The second floor transports the guest to a color enhanced experience that will promote energy and their creative genius. Including an energize room, bar, and even a candle lab, these spaces are going to be the attraction to those walking the Highline. Ultimately, the design features a seamless transition that will last through time and connect to everyone involved.
